Wayne Linklater

Principal

Wayne's extensive maritime experience is truly remarkable. From a young age, he honed exceptional boat building skills, a passion that propelled him to owning multiple successful boat building companies and even seafood outlets. Beyond construction, Wayne's leadership extends to the critical area of safety, evidenced by his management of several dynamic global companies, where he prioritized OHS compliance. His dedication to the maritime world is further fuelled by a personal passion for recreational vessels, with Wayne spending much of his leisure time enjoying the open water onboard a boat, solidifying his deep connection to the industry.

While we take immense pride in the qualifications, skills, and experience of our entire team, we recognise that some clients may wish to know who the captain of this vessel, Shorlink, is!

Charmayne Linklater

Co-Principal

Charmayne is a force to be reckoned with in the maritime industry, a woman whose lifeblood seems intertwined with the ebb and flow of the tides. It wouldn't be hyperbole to say boating is in her DNA, considering her upbringing on the Hawkesbury River with a father who captained his own trawler. This strong family connection forged a path for Charmayne, allowing her to accumulate a wealth of experience and expertise over the years. But her passion isn't confined to commercial ventures; she generously extends her knowledge to recreational boat owners, offering guidance and support that has earned her sincere appreciation and gratitude from all those fortunate enough to work alongside her.

Tracey McManus

Administration

Tracey is a proud member of the Women in Seafood Association (WISA).

Joining the Shorlink team during the challenging initial phase of the Covid pandemic, Tracey brought with her a wealth of experience from both a major Australian bank and a European Film Studio. This diverse background has instilled in her a deep understanding of the crucial roles safety, education, and compliance play in any operation. Tracey's meticulous attention to detail ensures that Shorlink's services are delivered with the highest level of care and precision. Interestingly, despite her personal struggle with seasickness, she has embraced the maritime industry with enthusiasm and consistently provides a friendly and helpful experience to anyone contacting the office.

Lindsay Hutton

Training

Since joining our team in 2021, Lindsay has become a true asset to our business. He arrived with a remarkable depth of boating and training experience, a foundation upon which him and Wayne have built an outstanding program for our clients. Lindsay's expertise, coupled with his approachable and friendly personality, creates a supportive and effective learning environment. This winning combination ensures our clients receive the highest quality training for their businesses and crew. We're incredibly proud of Lindsay and the comprehensive curriculum, setting a new standard for excellence in our industry.

Kalinda Linklater

Marine Services and Training

Whilst Kalinda has been on our team for over four years, she's now taking on a more direct role in assisting administration and training across all areas of marine services. Her consistent performance as an assistant in past training sessions has proven her dedication and ability to effectively support and engage participants. We're confident that Kalinda's experience and passion for the marine industry will make her a fantastic asset in shaping the next generation of skilled professionals in this field. We're excited to see her grow in this new capacity and contribute even more to the success of our team and our participants.
